Inca Trail to Machu Picchu: It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful trails in America and also gives you an unforgettable experience that you should not miss. The Inca Trail takes you through the protected nature of the Peruvian jungle and cloud forests, passing by various Inca archaeological sites that offer stunning views. The Incas used this sacred path for their pilgrimage to the sacred city of Machu Picchu.
We will depart very early towards the train station located in Ollantaytambo (travel time approximately 1 hour and 30 min). Afterwards, we will board the train to km 104, where the hike begins. We will then visit the archaeological site of Chachabamba (2250 meters above sea level), where agricultural products were obtained to be taken to Machu Picchu.
We will continue the hike towards Wiñaywayna, and on the way we will have beautiful views of the Urubamba River and the opportunity to observe different types of the famous Orchid family.
Once we arrive at Wiñaywayna, we will stop to visit this important archaeological site. After a well-deserved lunch, we will continue the hike towards Machu Picchu, which we will see from a distance from the Inti Punku (Sun Gate) on a beautiful afternoon before continuing to Aguas Calientes. We will stay at a hostel in the town.
After breakfast at your accommodation, we will ascend 30 minutes by bus and arrive at Machu Picchu (2400 meters above sea level).
We will do a guided tour of approximately 3 hours followed by free time for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will return to Cusco by train to Ollantaytambo.
Finally, we will board a bus to the city of Cusco, where we will end up 3 blocks from the main square of Cusco.
