Discover one of the most fertile valleys in southern Peru, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which has been one of the most important places since ancient times due to the fertility of its lands bathed by the waters of the Willkamayu (Vilcanota). Within this valley, you can appreciate beautiful towns that still cultivate products such as corn and potatoes, as well as three archaeological sites that were the most important during the Inca period.
THE SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS is located at an altitude of 2790 meters above sea level. Today we will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am to start our tour. During the Inca period, the Sacred Valley was very important for agricultural production. It is in this valley where large-grain corn was produced and is still produced. On the tour, you will visit beautiful towns that show their mix of cultures, arts, and architecture, such as the town of Pisaq and its artisanal market and archaeological site. Then we will arrive in Urubamba to taste our delicious buffet lunch with typical dishes of the region. We will continue our journey towards the archaeological park of Ollantaytambo, which dates back to the 15th century. Then we will visit Chincheros, which still maintains its traditional textile and ceramic arts, where we will visit its colonial church that houses its most important canvases from the 15th and 17th centuries. Finally, we will return to Cusco, where the transportation will leave us 2 or 3 blocks from the Plaza de Armas of Cusco.
