Conventional Colca (2 Days – 1 Night)

We start by picking up passengers from their respective hotels at 7:30 in the morning. If your hotel is located far from the historic center (Plaza de Armas), the meeting point will be in front of the cathedral at Plaza de Armas. We begin our journey with a destination of Patahuasi, and during the journey, you can enjoy the views of the Misti and Chachani volcanoes. Upon arrival, you can savor infusions of muña and coca to acclimatize to the altitude.

Next, we head to Pampa de Tocra, where you can observe wetlands and various birds, as well as South American camelids. Afterwards, we head to the town of Chivay. Before reaching Chivay, we’ll make a brief stop at Patapampa, the volcano viewpoint. From this point, you can observe the Hualcahualca, Sabancalla, and Ampato volcanoes. Then, we continue to the town of Chivay, where you can have lunch and settle into your hotel for the night.

In the afternoon, after lunch, we head to Yanque, where we’ll visit the Chacapi hot springs. You’ll have approximately 90 minutes to enjoy the hot springs at 35°C. Optionally, you can enjoy a dinner accompanied by local folk dances. End of the first day.

In the morning, at 6:00 am, you’ll have breakfast at the hotel where you are staying. Then, we head to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint (8:00 am), where you can appreciate one of the world’s deepest canyons. At this same point, you’ll find the condor sanctuary, and there is a great chance to see condors flying overhead. You’ll have approximately 60 minutes to acquire souvenirs from the area.

Afterward, we return to the town of Chivay. During this journey, we’ll visit the Antahuilke and Wayrapunko terraces and the town of Maca. Here, you can see colonial churches, tombs, local craftsmanship, textiles from the region, and pre-Inca terraces. Upon reaching the town of Chivay, we’ll have lunch, and finally, we begin our return to the city of Arequipa, arriving at around 5:30 pm.
